Hot Cinnamon Apple Dessert
This Hot Cinnamon Apple Dessert is a warm, comforting treat perfect for autumn evenings or any time you're craving a cozy dessert. Fresh apple slices are baked with grass-fed butter until tender, then coated with a sweet, spiced mixture of honey, cinnamon, and nutmeg, accented by a touch of apple cider vinegar for a balanced flavor. Finished with a sprinkle of tapioca flour to create a luscious, thick sauce, this dessert is best enjoyed with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delightful contrast of warm and cool.
Ingredients
- 3 Apples (sliced)
- 3 Tbsp Grass-fed Butter
- 1/4 cup Water
- 1/4 cup Honey
- 2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1 tsp Ground Nutmeg
- 1 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 2 Tbsp Tapioca Flour
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°.
- Slice the apples to 1inch thickness and add to a 1.5 quart pot.
- Place butter on top of the apples.
- Place dish (uncovered) in the oven for 10 minutes.
- Stir 2-3 times in between to ensure each apple is getting butter on it.
- While the apples are in the oven, mix together in a separate bowl the water, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and apple cider vinegar.
- When you pull out the apples, pour liquid over the apples and mix thoroughly.
- Cover and place back into the oven for 15 minutes.
- Stir every 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle tapioca flour over the apple and mix. (helps thicken)
- Place back into the oven for 10 more minutes and stir halfway through.
- Enjoy with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
