Happy New Year!  We’re thinking about all the wonderful possibilities that 2018 can bring.  In doing so, we’ve compiled a list of 20 healthy New Year’s Resolutions that are easy to keep! We’ve grouped them under 4 categories Exercise, Less stressEat better and a Healthy Spine.  Let us know what you think of our suggestions!

Exercise – There are many benefits from exercising, and small changes can add up to big results.

1.Take the stairs instead of elevators and escalators.

2.Find a parking spot far away from the building.

3.Flex – while waiting in line flex your abs for 10 seconds and repeat 10 times – works your core!

4.Sign up for a dance class or join a gym.

5.If you ride a bus, get off at the stop before and walk a little extra distance.

Less Stress – Less stress will improve your overall health. Try our little tricks.

6.Schedule “quiet time” and turn off your cell phone.

7.Take a few moments to close your eyes and day dream.

8.Watch less TV – read a book instead.

9.Listen to calming, relaxing music.

10.Deep breathe, just 3-5 minutes with your feet flat on the floor, deep breathing oxygenates your blood and clears your mind.

Eat Better – Poor nutrition can increase inflammation in your body.

11.Bring a healthy lunch from home.

12.Eat five new foods this year.

13.Keep healthy snacks on hand.

14.Choose real fruit over fruit flavor.

15.Don’t go shopping when you’re hungry.

Healthy Spine – maintaining a healthy spine is critical to your well being.

16.Practice good ergonomics while sitting

17.Walk daily

18.Stretch daily – keeping flexible helps joint function and range of motion.

19.Stay hydrated – it helps maintain soft tissue elasticity and fluidity in joints.

20.Make regular chiropractic appointments
